The Computerized Cognition Laboratory helps integrate the teaching of cognitive psychology and research methods. The experiments allow students to examine short-term memory (acoustic similarity effects and memory-span), long-term memory (semantic similarity and elaboration effects), and decision making (framing effects and heurisitcs), thus providing illustrations of effects commonly cited in cognition textbooks and research literature. The software employs both between-groups and within-subjects designs, and continuous and categorical dependent measures. Therefore, one may use the package to teach the application of several statistical procedures, including X2, correlation, t test, and ANOVA.
